As part of their administrative requirements, all Head Start programs complete an annual Program Information Report (PIR). PIR data cover 3- and 4-year-old children served in the Head Start preschool program, children under age 3 served in Early Head Start, children birth to age 5 served in the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start program, and children served by the American Indian and Alaskan Native Head Start programs. Family Child Care Institute: Program Quality Evaluation ($99)

children on swingThis institute provides an introduction to program evaluation, stressing the importance of ongoing assessment to improve quality and practices. Participants will be introduced to the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale-Revised (FCCERS-R) to assess the learning environment, as well as other measures to assess the quality of business practices, parent satisfaction, and community responsiveness. In addition, participants will learn about the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) Quality Standards for Accreditation and how to begin the self-study process for accreditation. This training will be conducted over three days with the first two days meeting at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The final day will be held in conjunction with Leadership Connections at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Space is limited.
