Who's Caring for the Kids? 2008 Update of the Illinois
Early Childhood Workforce
Because you count...make sure you're counted!
Last chance to take the survey! The McCormick Tribune Foundation is
sponsoring a 2008 update of Who's Caring for the Kids? The initial report
was published in 2001 as a joint effort by the McCormick Tribune Center for
Early Childhood Leadership and the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and
Referral Agencies (INCCRRA). This report helped set the stage for many
innovations in Illinois, including the development of Gateways to Opportunity,
Preschool for All, and other educational opportunities for early childhood
professionals like you.
Illinois directors --- If you haven't already complete the returned the
director's survey that was sent to your center, please take ten minutes out of
your busy schedule to answer some questions about different aspects of your
professional role. You can
take the survey online. The survey should be
completed by the on-site administrator who has the primary responsibility for
planning, implementing, and evaluating the early care and education program.
Thank you.
The 2008 report will be shared with policymakers, leaders of state agencies, and
practitioners. It will be available on our Web site (http://cecl.nl.edu) in
September.
