In the first place, I wouldn't call it "progressive discipline." That's a concept that is used in unionized workplaces. I would term it "corrective action." And, to give management the greatest flexibility possible, I would not list "steps" of corrective action. I would list examples of poor performance and misconduct; state that these are examples only, and that other types of performance and conduct issues might also merit corrective action; and state that depending on the circumstances and the severity of the issue, corrective action would be taken, up to and including termination of employment. Does that make sense?
