Hi Cara,

I am a director of the child care center at Richland Community College in Decatur, Illinois. I have been extremely interested with reading all of the discussion involving supervisory responsibilities involving employees and hiring, etc. I have 6 staff who are classified as "non-exempt". I have never heard of a "training wage" so the new terminology I am learning, including the meaning behind "probationary period", will be very beneficial for me to be aware of when dealing with employee issues. I have always paid my staff their regular wage whenever they attended training in addition to overtime since most of the training is held on weekends which is over their 40 hour work week.
