The conference session that was the most meaningful to me would have to be the Keynote Address with Greg Mortenson. I'm not real sure if this counted as one of the sessions but I do know that it was truly inspirational. So often we get caught up in the everyday running of our centers that we tend to forget why and how we got there. Greg really helped me to remember why I got into the field of EarlyChildhood in the first place. The love of the education of children and to be able to nurture their curiosity in a healthy and safe environment. The realization that we are blessed with the educational system we have here in the states versus other parts of the world where even the basic needs of life aren't meant. The fact that education makes a nation and it only takes one person to make a difference in the lives of many. There were so many values that I could take away from his speech but one that I will post in my office as a daily reminder when times get tough is the quote "When it's Dark I Can See the Stars!"
