Hello everyone, my name is Dorothy Wells and I live in Milwaukee, WI. This was the first time I have attended the Leadership Connections Conference, but I had heard many good things about it from my fellow cohorts in the ECA program so my expectations were high. I was not disappointed!
All the sessions I attended were great but the one most meaningful have to be 'Caring for the Caregiver' presented by John Roope. I realize this is a very real and serious matter, but the information was presented in a humorous and easygoing way. Mr Roope put the entire group at ease and everyone seemed to feel comfortable sharing and venting. He gave us many usable suggestions for dealing with difficult situations, parents, staff and children; all the time reminding us that the first person we need to take care of is ourselves.
