I am working on that now... My plan is to consider the things I already know: that we work in a relaxed, family atmosphere. Parents and staff are free to come to me with questions and concerns at any time. We have routines and structure, but we allow for lots of creativity and expression. I am a rule-follower, so my staff is expected to follow important rules that pertain to safety, health, nutrition, and required paperwork. Additionally, I will observe more carefully the topics I overhear being discussed among the staff and the parents. I did a survey of the parents' perspective at my parent meeting yesterday. I will do the same for the staff at my center staff meeting tomorrow. And I will see where all of this leads me.
