The session that was the most meaningful for me was "Why Is Recruitment So Hard?" with Kay Albrecht. In my opinion, recruitment of staff is the least desirable part of being a director. This session gave everyone the opportunity to discuss why most of us have issues with recruitment. We looked at the components of the "Right Fit Model" which shed a new light on recruiting. When hiring in the future, I will put more thought into which applicants fit into the culture of our center rather than basing hiring on the job description. We also discussed ways to enhance the interview process and going past face-to-face interviews and taking it several steps further. I feel more confident and ready for my next opportunity to hire.
