Is what we do a process?

It seems to me, good leaders embrace process work. They are comfortable turning projects over to others and watching them unfold.

Going back to my example of the colorful strips of paper for art. Those children expressed a sense of joy over having the responsibility to design an art project on their own. They were quite purposeful in their process; determining how to use those pieces of paper. And, a great deal of learning was unfolding in the process. There were no deadlines or expectations for a finished result.

I certainly function best in process mode. My greatest stress in work is always about meeting deadlines and completing reports that must look a certain way and fit a specific criteria.
