Keith asked, "How can classrooms become more "choice" oriented and less "one size fits all" types of environments?"
One suggestion is for administrators and supervisors to model a choice-orientated environment for teachers. I often encourage directors to create an environment for their staff that parallels what they want staff to provide for children. A choice-oriented environment for staff allows them to grow and develop "professional self-regulation". In turn, this professional growth will be reflected in the classrooms.
