I like the way you stated "Counseling a staff member out". I have a similar approach to you in regards to disiplining and helping to best guide this teacher. The plan I have in place is referred to as "Action Plans". Goals are set up for them with time lines and high expections. This has either movitated undedicated staff to change or they chose to leave on their own. I have also tried turning them into the "floater" postions, but I found that to be even more of a problem. Now that teacher is creating a problem all of the classrooms and with more staff members then when she was only in her room. On office side of it, I need another teacher to fill her spot. My bugdet and productivity does not allow me have an "extra" staff member without the ration numbers accounting for her need. How did you handle that issue or was it not a concern for your center?
