Exempt Employee Status revisited

Here's what my very experienced friend and colleague, Dr. Cathy Jones, of WV universal pre-k says of her experience with Exempt workers:

Exempt employees are those professionals who are exempt from labor laws that govern overtime, comp time etc. They must work until the work is done. We tried to get our teachers at day cares at RV classified as exempt but wage and hour will not allow day care teachers to be exempt.

And Cathy's comment on the Freedom of Information Act:

Yes, federal law (can't remember the name) mandates that every employee has a right to see his/her own file.
