I have had several situations like the one you described. I don't change any of my questions. We review the job description . I ask everyone I interview if there is anything that might prevent them from meeting the duties as outlined on the job description. This can then open the dialogue as per your case especaily about the ability to chase after a toddler and to get up and down from the floor. Part of our hiring process includes going into the classroom for a period of time( roughly 30 minutes or so while I take a phone call or I am busy with a report). I then ask the applicant how comfortable they were in the room.
