Hi Jill, Your center sounds like a wonderful place that encompasses the best of diversity. I know it must be very challenging trying to communicate when there are so many languages and cultures. I agree with all the things you are already doing .I’m sure the parents appreciate your efforts to keep them aware of the center’s activities and their children’s progress. I suggest that you continue to use to your translators as much and whenever possible. Remember that body language is very important and powerful be conscious of yours. Learn how it is used and what can be offensive. Smiles are universal, touching is not. You might want to make a list of important information and most frequently asked questions and translate in as many languages as possible. You are so lucky to have the opportunity to promote cultural sensitivity and harmony for the staff, parents and most importantly the children, our future. Thank you Jill I would love to visit your site one day. Keep in touch.
