Kelly, We have tried different apporaches, however display boards seem to really help. We have one posted for Science, Math, Art, Language, etc and on each board are samples of the child's work (open ended of course so each piece of work or photo is different) along with materials used, a description of the process and the learing benefits to the activity (both social and academic) These boards seem to help parents better understand that it is so much more than "play". Of course pointing out these boards in Parente Teacher Conferences, tours or Open House helps as well.
