Our school system has what is called preschool days, and the parents and children are able to go visit the teachers/classrooms and see how they present it to the child. When I first heard about the montessori program, i was so confused. So I decided to give it a try for preschool, its easier taking them out then getting them in! After that year I knew it was right for my son. I coudl see how much he had learned and how much he loved it. We have kept him in there since. he is now in 1st grade. My suggestion would be to go and visit a classroom now if you can, watch what goes on. Ask lots of questions at the open house if they do one, if not call the school. You will be able to pick up on the cues your child gives you whether or not its for them.
