I am a newly accredited provider as of December, the self study process depends on the quality of your program and I felt alot of things were open to interpretation I had several questions I did not have a mentor (well she visited one time) to assist in the process I usually asked these questions of NAFCC sometimes the answers I received made no sense. Like when I recd the self study packet I recd another book that I remember was blue, so I took the time to read it had several questions then found out it had nothing to do with the standards. My advice to anyone going through the process is to save all emails.
I have another question to Barbara, can you please tell me what the benefit is for an accredited provider or someone in the process to go to the NAFCC's National conference if the hours only count in the 28 hours or less catergory. I went to my first national conference in Denver I enjoyed it but honestly with the expense incurred and now finding out that the hours count as the 28 hours or less why should I go?? I believe the new hours requirement will discouraqe alot of people to become accredited or to become reaccredited. I would like to know what everyone else thinks on the new hours requirements?
thank you Michele
