Hi Barb,

Thanks for taking the time to host this Time Out! Discussion and to share your expertise on Family Child Care Accreditation. I do a lot of work with the Center and I teach online Administrator Credential classes in Wisconsin. In my current online course we have a number of family child care providers, and I've encouraged them all to join in on your discussion this week.

My own children and our family benefited greatly from high quality family child care, and hardly a week goes by when one of us doesn't think of a story from their time at Joan's house and when we were all part of the community of families she created in her home and through her program.

We loved having our daughters go to care together, and we loved the multi-age group care where they each got to try on other roles, and we especially loved the continuity of care they and we all received over many years. I'm a big fan of high quality family child care and accreditation is a key tool for elevating the quality and raising the vision of what that means.
