Explaining Accreditation to Parents

I am currently in the self-study phase of accreditation. Will someone help me with how I can introduce this process to my parents and what it means for them. I don't know how to put it in simple terms and yet show that I am really trying to improve the care that I give, and that I am putting a lot of time and resources into my FCC. Any suggestions?
