Mary Louise - I attended a 2-day training with you at the NAEYC Professional Development Conf. in Baltimore a few years ago. I strongly believe in the combo approach of looking at our practices, the environments we have designed to help kids be successful and learn how to manage their behavior, etc., and I am fortunate enough to work in a Head Start program that supports using the strategies you suggest to address children's social-emotional competence. Thanks for providing this framework for thinking about children's behavior.
