Comments

Good Afternoon, I am addressing the comments regarding challenging behavior. I agree that we need to address the problem early on and that the parents need to work with the teachers. That is easier said than done. In the thirty years that I have been teaching, I had to dismiss one child from my program. I attempted working with the parents but was not making progress. The other children in the program were afraid to attend school because of this child. After I dismissed the child I saw the mother. She actually thanked me for helping her realize that my program was not meeting the needs of her son. He needed to be placed in a program that better served her child. I also believe she realized that her involvement would be necessary.
