Hi Francyne:

Wow, it sounds like you are doing some great things. You will always have staff who are skeptical. One thing that I have found in working with programs is that if you figure out a process for helping teachers develop individualized supports for those children with the most challenging behavior, they are more willing to do the prevention and promotion pieces with all children.

From the teachers' perspective, even if there is only one child with persistent problem behavior in your classroom, that one child can disurpt everything. So, if you develop a plan for addressing the needs of that one child, it is easier for the teacher to buy into everything else.

Keep up the good work!!

Mary Louise
