Upcoming Technology Courses

Training ParticipantsComplete, interactive course providing intermediate instruction to computer technology as an administrative tool in the management of child care programs. Topics include: Creating electronic forms with Microsoft® Office Word 2007; designing promotional materials with Microsoft® Office Publisher 2007; constructing complex spreadsheets with Microsoft® Office Excel 2007; and building databases with Microsoft® Office Access 2007.

Classes will be held at NLU's Chicago Campus (map and directions) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Additional content and activities will be delivered online. Participants successfully finishing the course will receive a Certificate of Completion. For Illinois Director Credential (IDC) purposes, this training equals 30 contact hours or two IDC management competency points. Graduate credit from National-Louis University (ECE535, Technology in Child Care Administration II) is also available by paying an additional fee. Participants can register on-site during the first session.

Partial funding for this course is provided by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). Participant portion of the training cost is only $75. This fee instruction, textbook, flash drive, and training materials. Enrollment is limited and priority will be given to administrators whose programs serve IDHS-funded children.
