Technology Training
Administering an effective and efficient early childhood program in today's world requires expertise in technology. Let us help you improve your computer skills and integrate technology into the management of your child care program. This year the McCormick Tribune Center for Early Childhood Leadership is offering a series of technology courses and workshops with content and activities specifically designed for early childhood administrators.
Beginner and Intermediate Courses
Courses
consist of five lab sessions providing hands-on training as well as additional
content and activities delivered online. Those successfully completing
the course will receive a Certificate of Completion. For Illinois Director
Credential (IDC) purposes, this training equals 30 contact hours or two
IDC management competency points. Participants may also receive two semester
hours of graduate credit from National-Louis University (ECE534, Technology
in Child Care Administration I or ECE535, Technology in Child Care Administration
II) by paying an additional fee.
Funding for these courses is provided by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). Participant portion of the training cost is only $75. This fee includes instruction, textbook, flash drive, and training materials. Enrollment is limited and priority will be give to administrators whose programs serve IDHS-funded children.
Full- and Half-Day Workshops
Workshops
consist of three or six hours of hands-on training focusing on topics
of special interest. Participants will have access to follow-up technical
assistance online. Funding for full-day workshops is provided by IDHS.
Participant portion of the training cost is only $45 for full-day workshops
and $35 for half-day workshops. Participants will receive a Certificate
of Attendance. College credit may be available for select workshops.
Customized Training
Faculty at the McCormick Tribune Center for Early Childhood Leadership are available to provide customized training, delivered on-site, for your organization.
