Upcoming Technology Workshops

Training ParticipantThe Center regularly offers full-day, interactive technology workshops for early childhood administrators. Each workshop provides six hours of hands-on training and follow-up technical assistance online. Funding is provided by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). The participant's portion of the training cost is only $45. Enrollment is limited and priority will be given to administrators whose programs serve IDHS-funded children.View/print the 2010 Schedule of Professional Development Opportunities

Participants receive a certificate of attendance documenting 6 clock hours of training for use towards the renewal of the Illinois Director Credential (IDC).

Additional FY 2011 sessions will be announced later this summer.

Is Social Networking Really for Me? Facebook as a Marketing Tool for Early Childhood Programs*

Social networking isn’t just for teenagers anymore! Learn how Facebook can be a powerful tool to help you market your program and communicate with stakeholders. Learn how to create a Facebook page for your program, post photos, set permissions for visitors, and track the effectiveness of the page. You will also have an opportunity to discuss the implications of social networking tools and how to establish policies and procedures that ensure the privacy of families and staff. (No past social networking or advanced computer skills required.)
